It was after 10 pm on a Saturday and even though we were assured a dry and fresh day, it had not stopped pouring down rain! Brian and I were resting there talking over the weekend's rugby rankings, prepared for the 6th job of the day to arrive. Before long we had the call from a lovely woman on a business expedition who had gone to the BP filling station in Ruxley and filled the wrong fuel in her diesel Smart hire car in error. The poor thing was very distressed apparently, telling me "I simply can't believe that I've messed up the car! I am just so accustomed to putting petrol in my petrol vehicle that I totally didn't remember that I was driving a diesel!" I advised her to take it easy and not to fret, also that such things sadly often happen. She managed to move the vehicle into a safe position and, because it was just a few minutes away from the office, we were able to reach the lady quickly. The contaminated fuel was removed so she could go home to the motel she was staying at. Although we got pretty drenched, it was all worthwhile to see her drive home calm and a lot less anxious. A misfuel correction in Bromley done well in my mind!

Tank filled with water - Water can contaminate your engine and it must be taken out of the fuel system in order to avoid damages and rust in your engine. Once you accelerate hard your engine, it may begin to rev up and jolt. Contamination like this is not only common in boats. This can happen to the car too due to the jerry cans that were previously utilized as a water container then later utilized as fuel container where water was not completely emptied.
AdBlue in your Diesel tank - Like the wrong fuel in the wrong place, people usually add AdBlue to their engine. Most of them misunderstand the purpose of AdBlue. It should go in a special compartment around the engine, and not the engine itself. It reduces emissions. AdBlue contamination numbers are rising steadily. If you encounter that problem, let us take care of it for you.
Red Diesel in the Tank - Accidentally filling the tank is the most typical cause of this. It can easily happen if you are distracted or exhausted, from a filling pump or jerry can, and it's no surprise when the AA says as many as 1500 UK garages sell red diesel. Should this happen to you unexpectedly, just give us a call and we'll do the work for you.
Old or degraded fuel in your tank - As time passes, the fuel in the car that has been sitting in the garage for a long time may degrade and not great for the engine anymore. The engine may start once you turn it on but the car won?t run. This old fuel has to be flushed out and we can do that too.
